Steep Descending, Drops, and Dynamic Riding Clinic
Sedona has incredible downhill terrain. There are few places in the world that offer the quality and variety of technical features that you will find on our home trails. Riders can encounter steep slick rock rolls, ridge line descents, chunky stair steps and drops of all shapes and sizes.
To maximize your fun and flow on our trails, riders must understand what skills are needed, when to apply each skill and how to execute them. Join our legendary team of local instructors and gain a better understanding on how drop, roll and ride steep terrain with confidence.
Morning Skills Session:
This day-long clinic will start at the Sedona Bike Park where we will thoroughly review correct body position and footwork for steep terrain. Techniques will be given to help riders increase stability, balance and control on a variety of features.
Two drop techniques will also be introduced at the bike park. Learning the advantages/disadvantages and when to apply each is key. Focused practice will happen at the park before we take these skills to the afternoon trail session.
Delicious Lunch Options:
A catered boxed lunch alongside the SMBA staff is an opportunity to connect on the clinic’s content or chat general mtb tips&tricks.
Afternoon Trail Session:
Our afternoon session will exclusively be on Sedona’s trails. Our team has selected a loop that covers a wide range of Sedona downhill features. Steep rock rolls, chunky steps, exposed steep ridge lines and drops!
This clinic is tailored for riders who identify as beginner through strong intermediate. Group size will be small, ensuring plenty of individualized feedback for each participant. Groups will be divided up by ability level to maximize our trail time!
